Summer To Fall Transition

Pre-fall is my favorite time of the year: I can still wear the light and airy summer pieces whiling enjoy the fun of layering. Today’s featured looks are perfect examples of dressing for transitional seasons.

The white top, black shorts and mini skirt on Olivia Palermo & Poppy Delevingne are spring/summer staples we all have in our closet. Top them off with a tweed or leather jacket to keep us warm on chilly days while bringing in details and rich textures to a monochrome look. Black accessories with gold accents are also great way to introduce new season without adding bulk, like the black bag, cute bow pump, and edgy studded loafers on them.

Low heels and menswear inspired footwear are huge trends. Since they are not as leg-lengthening as stilettos, we need to pay extra attention to clothes: high waisted bottoms or crop top/jacket is a good way to go, especially for petite girls like me.

关于鞋款，粗低跟及男孩风是本季的流行，由于它们不像经典的高跟鞋那么拉长腿部线条，我们就要特别注意衣服的选择，尤其是个子娇小的女孩，短款修身的外套和高腰的裤装是搭配这些鞋款的好朋友。

Double Denim: Casual or Dressy

I love seeing style savvy recycle clothes, especially affordable, versatile staples. It truly inspire us to maximize our wardrobe and be creative. Olivia Palermo is definitely a connoisseur: she is often spotted in a casual chic outfit for morning coffee run, later transforms the ensemble into a polished, pulled-together look simply by changing accessories or adding one or two key items.

Today’s two featured outfits above are perfect example: The right-on-trend camo loafer and mirrored sunglasses give chambray shirt and distressed jeans a fashionable, cool girl off-duty vibe, while a white tuxedo blazer, lux structured leather bag and colorblock strappy heels instantly glamorizing the same combo.

Glamour in White: Event & Date Outfit Ideas

Social season requires multi-functional, season-appropriate yet style conscious pieces. With that in mind, today I picked two glamorous looks from Olivia Palermo, see how she pulled together elegant, fashionable looks that are great for many social events, from formal black tie to a baby shower or date night, by using pieces that can be easily restyled in many different ways.

Like how Raf Simons infused modern poetry to Dior’s bravura signatures, Olivia Palermo chose sleek white blazer to go with her opulent, luxurious organza skirt for the house’s couture show. Front row styles are my favorite to observe, I greatly appreciate outfits like this which capture the spirit of the brand, yet so wearable.

This look is great for formal events, gallery opening, museum exhibits, weddings or fancy dinner. The white blazer, black pumps, embellished belt and cuffs can polish up many casual outfits as well.

The second look below blended different styles harmoniously together: the edgy animal print shirt, girly flared skirt, cool aviator sunglasses and cut-out booties. This drop-waist skirt on her is a new trend this season. Since the flare starts at our hips, the best way to style them is with tops tucked in to highlight our waistline. An embellished belt helps to cinch the waist. Style savvy Olivia also used nude heels to elongate her slim legs.

Again, each piece in this outfit can be easily restyled: Wear the printed blouse with white skinny jeans or black cropped pants; Team the flared skirt with a peplum top or bomber jacket. The usage of the accessories (nude cut out sandals, blue bag and embellished belt) is endless.
