Fashion Week Street Style: Stripes

Stripes are having their major moment on spring 2013 runway. Outside the shows, they were as hot as inside the Lincoln Center: from blazer to blouse, from shirt to skirt, they can easily be spotted on the street.

As you can see from the looks above: to take this summer feeling piece into fall, these stylish ladies wore their striped tops with tweed shorts, denim cutoffs and tights, jewel tone dress and boyfriend jeans.

Stripes are such a classic pattern. To add a modern and fresh vibe to them, I like to play with accessories, especially of-the-moment and season appropriate bags and shoes.

Stella McCartney fold over tote is a timeless yet timely staple. This leopard print version is a great update and perfect for fall. With the signature silhouette and subtle leopard print, it will add just the right amount of edgy sophistication to any look.

I love love silk button-up blouse. With the classic stripe print, this one is a must have. I like to pair it with a bright red leather tote to echo the classic, glamorous yet laid-back vibe of the shirt.

Striped blazer has been around for a while and will still be hot in the next spring. I adore this one for the crisp color, tailored silhouette and oversized lapels. This must-have bag by YSL tones down the bright hue while the bright cobalt blue on the side adding a surprising pop of color to the look. Besides high quality handbags, another accessories that I invest in is definitely shoes! And classic striped pieces especially need outstanding shoes to spice them up.
