Neon pink on spring 2012 runway:
Since neon trend fell swoop early spring, I just can’t get enough of it. If Queen Elizabeth’s shift from pastels to brights is an antidote to the gloom of the Cold War, then now, our shift from pastels to neon is for the same purpose: rely on the power of colors to stay strong in this economy.
Among all the hot neon colors, pink is my instinct for spring/summer (I was in my favorite pink blazer here). And it’s definitely not my first time featured this color if you remember this ultra sexy neon pumps paired with masculine camo pants and this eye-catching pink coat paired with sporty shorts.
Those two looks and today’s three outfits above all have something in common: of course there are pink pieces in all of the looks, but moreover, they are sharing the same “pairing skill”–by juxtaposing feminine hot pink items against tough, edgy or boyish pieces, the whole look just suddenly has the chic sophisticated modern verve. It is the art of balancing that we talked about here.
Jessica Stam balanced her cute pink cross-body bag with an abstract printed dress and a pair of menswear sneakers; Izabel Goulart balanced her sexy hot pink skinny jeans with a tough leather jacket and a structured bag; Miranda Kerr balanced her pink sweet sweatshirt with a pair of western cowgirl ankle boots, studded bucked bag and a pair of chic aviator sunnies.
Below are the equally stylish pieces for you to recreate all the three stylish outfits:
