An effortlessly chic day-time outfit that can be easily transformed into a glamorous night-out look simply by taking off the vest. Put a little thought in the morning, you will move with ease and confidence till dusk. The blush colored tote is such an unexpected finishing touch. I think it works because the pink is very subtle and sophisticated, thus almost works as a neutral, the black handle and dove grey side panels also help it blend harmoniously with the rest.

Two great neutral outfits that are anything but boring. A small accessory—belt—had a profound impact on today’s featured looks. A midi skirt paired with a long shirt can be dangerous in terms of proportion, a belt that helps define the waist line and create layers solves the problem with ease. So does it for the look on the right: a hip length top paired with flats can make our legs appear very short, a waist belt combined with a mini skirt create the harmonious proportion while elongating the legs.

A reader Karin (Hi, Karin!) asked me what to wear to stay on trend in her 50s, while, the hot midi skirt trend is definitely for you! Change the crop tank top to any top in your closet, I can see you rock this look (above left) beautifully!

A fashionable wardrobe is not completed without denim. For an evergreen material like this, I always look for interesting designs,  like the patchwork effect, lived-in vibe and fun overall silhouette seen on today’s featured denim pieces. I love how Olivia Palermo used this humble fabric to offset her graceful midi skirt, chic pinstripe shirt and glamorous metallic accessories, resulting two effortlessly chic outfits that are great for many summer activities: from a Sunday brunch, to a drive-in movie night, anywhere you want to stay comfortable with glamour.
