Power Dressing: Oversized Coat

Oversized coat is very nostalgic for me. For some reason, I associate it with wisdom and power, especially when the collar is up, the hem is flying with every step…maybe I watched too much Detective Conan in middle school.

Back to today’s featured outfits, I love how Poppy Delevingne added a fun and feminine flair to her masculine grey coat (above left), and turned down her luxurious, cape-like red coat with white crochet, heavily distressed denim and fun prints.

In Chinese: 不知道为什么，我总是潜意识里把这种长大衣和智慧、权力联系起来，尤其是把领子竖起来，长长的下摆随着步幅摇曳，再加上墨镜和礼帽，气场十足。也许是中学时名侦探柯南看太多了额。。

言归正传，看看Poppy Delevingne怎么搭配这种难驾驭的长大衣吧：第一个颇有硬朗风的灰色箱型大衣，她配上了有趣的波普衬衫和性感凉鞋；第二个有点像大斗篷的奢华的红色外套，她则配上了不羁的破洞仔裤和甜美学院风的镂空白毛衣和小衬衫。配饰上可爱圆点和狂野蛇纹的混搭也是出人意料又令人赞叹。

Front row style “requires” sophisticated outfits with a bit of luxe touch and a lot of fun. I love style savvy, front row “expert” Olivia Palermo achieved that by using colored fur stole, luminous print, unexpected mix and match, and sleek basics to balance them out. We may not get the opportunity to sit in the front row, but these looks can be great inspirations when dressing for parties or a night out.

Thanks to leading designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo and Miuccia Prada, Spring 2014 runway likes an art class. The bold face or brushstroke print maybe not for everyone, but one solid primary color is so much easier to pull off. My tip? When the color is eye-catching, keep the silhouette sleek and accessories minimal for a modern, sophisticated vibe.

In Chinese: 大牌设计师们像Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo和Miuccia Prada把2014春夏的T台变成了艺术课堂。那些大胆的脸谱或画笔的图案也许不是每个人能挑战的，但单一的明亮色穿起来就容易多了。小贴士：当单品的颜色很抢眼时，款式和配件最好简单利落。
