Midi skirt trend brought out the perfect 1940s housewife side in us. Here, Miranda Kerr & Kourtney Kardashian showed two major shapes: the sexy body-hugging silhouette flatters Miranda Kerr’s slim but curvaceous figure, while the flirty, high-waisted A-line skirt elongates Kourtney Kardashian’s legs and concealed her wide hips. I also love how they modernized the retro-ness with sharp jackets, roomy totes and trendy sunglasses.

These are two outfits that Olivia Palermo wore in the same day for two different events, above left is for Banana Republic Share Happy event which requires some walking in the city, while the right one is for a fancy Christian Louboutin event. Hope these two looks inspire you for seamlessly transition from day to night simply by changing one or two pieces.

Power Dressing: Oversized Coat

Oversized coat is very nostalgic for me. For some reason, I associate it with wisdom and power, especially when the collar is up, the hem is flying with every step…maybe I watched too much Detective Conan in middle school.

Back to today’s featured outfits, I love how Poppy Delevingne added a fun and feminine flair to her masculine grey coat (above left), and turned down her luxurious, cape-like red coat with white crochet, heavily distressed denim and fun prints.

In Chinese: 不知道为什么，我总是潜意识里把这种长大衣和智慧、权力联系起来，尤其是把领子竖起来，长长的下摆随着步幅摇曳，再加上墨镜和礼帽，气场十足。也许是中学时名侦探柯南看太多了额。。

言归正传，看看Poppy Delevingne怎么搭配这种难驾驭的长大衣吧：第一个颇有硬朗风的灰色箱型大衣，她配上了有趣的波普衬衫和性感凉鞋；第二个有点像大斗篷的奢华的红色外套，她则配上了不羁的破洞仔裤和甜美学院风的镂空白毛衣和小衬衫。配饰上可爱圆点和狂野蛇纹的混搭也是出人意料又令人赞叹。
