Midi skirts and wool shorts are great transitional pieces to keep us warm without the winter heaviness. The graceful vibe of a midi and tailored silhouette of the shorts make them versatile pieces that can be worn from desk to dinner. Here, I love the accessories master Olivia Palermo adds edgy or glamour elements to her ensemble via add-ons  like her enviable shoes, cool sunglasses, and ladylike purse.

As a petite girl myself, I find that the most flattering jackets for me are cropped or hip-length ones. The latter are especially versatile for their seasonless apparel and easy-going vibe: they go great with almost anything, from dresses to leggings, from skinny jeans to wide-leg trousers; they add extra warmth without overwhelming our frame; they are also acceptable indoor & outdoor.

The only downside of hip-length jackets is they can cut our legs. To avoid that, cinch the coat at the waist with a belt or choose those already done for us like this fabulous Reiss jacket on Kate Middleton, which has the feminine fit and flare silhouette and sophisticated clean lines. Style savvy Olivia Palermo used a jeweled brooch to draw eyes up, which also help elongate her legs.

这种长度的大衣唯一不好的地方在于会切断我们的腿型，所以选择收腰的款式很重要，比如王妃Kate Middleton身上的这件来自平价品牌Reiss的修身长外套，合身的剪裁、优雅的颜色和简洁的线条是她平时偏爱的穿衣风格。除了收腰款式或用腰带强调腰线外，街拍女王Olivia Palermo也提供了另外一个聪明的办法：用一枚抢眼的宝石胸针当作纽扣让视线停留在腰部，从而拉长了腿型，配上蛇纹的高跟鞋和彩色珠宝镶嵌的手包，就能瞬间把适合办公室的黑白造型转换成闪亮的派对着装。
