Sweaters are year-round essentials, especially for fall/winter. From classic striped ones to cute printed ones to right-on-trend crisp white version, today’s featured ladies showed us how to style this staple piece for various occasions:

Blake Lively played with patterns by pairing her striped sweater with houndstooth pants, resulting a bold, fashionable look that’s great for hanging out with friends or holiday shopping; Taylor Swift & Huntington-Whiteley teamed their printed sweaters with comfy pants and roomy yet stylish day bag for casual but polished outfits that’s great for running errands or getaways; Alexa Chung went for the classic black and white theme by pairing hers with a leather pencil skirt, living up the look with one of the hottest IT bags this season. Her look is sleek and modern, great for holiday parties or a date night.

I have been searching for a Khaki lightweight spring trench coat for a long time and finally find it at Madewell when I was drawn by their spring sale! The bright khaki flatters my skin tone, the details are classic, the tailoring is perfect, the length is just right, let alone the affordable price tag!

When searching for laid-back yet updated style inspirations for this trench coat, this look (above) of Taylor Swift from a while ago really caught my eyes. We all know that a classic trench like this goes with everything, but for this season, I get fixated on the idea of pairing it with menswear-inspired shoes, like the Oxford on Taylor Swift, or the velvet loafer on Miranda Kerr (here). To add a touch of chic glamour, think of glitter material, edgy jewelry and a bright lip!

Crossbody is a trend for bag now; classic leopard print bag is also having a big moment this season and will go into fall/winter, which make this baby a must-have! And it is made of my favorite material for bags and shoes–calf hair!)

Three Simple Tips To Upgrade Your White Dress

Three ways to instantly update your white dress? You probably can tell from the looks above: add a pop of color with an eye-catching red box clutch, draw the eye up with a pair of exotic turquoise earrings; perfectly frame your face with a bold statement necklace. But not all three together of course.

Pay attention to the details when you are picking these outfit makers: for a sharp, modern black and white dress, Nicole Richie picked a red clutch with a whimsical antiqued golden clasp. The snake skin effect faux leather also echoes the edginess of her dress; Rachel Zoe balanced her innocent, sober dress with bold statement necklace and oversized bracelet. Since all of her add-ons are pretty bold, she kept them in a similar tone.

As you can tell from the three pictures below, Taylor Swift’s look is my favorite. Her curvaceous, ravishing dress fits like a glove, a perfect balance between sexy and elegant. The turquoise earrings are truly unexpected on red carpet. To steal a scene, grab the attention, red carpet dressing is all about the unexpected. That’s why a bold turquoise piece can easily beat expensive diamond (remember this look of Hedi Klum?)

We don’t have many chances to wear gowns, but today’s three simple tips work perfectly with your white sundress, maxi dress or sheath. Don’t forget to give them a try when you need to dress up for a night out, a fancy dinner or a formal event!
