Magic Fashion Essential: Leopard Scarf

Leopard is such a special and magic print. It’s powerful enough to transform a plain outfit into a chic one or … a vulgar one.

Leopard can be such a beloved print, I think Christian Dior who first used it as a print and not fur in its 1947 spring-summer collection should at the top of my list I’m thankful for. Others in the list include Yves Saint Laurent who developed the print and Dolce & Gabbana who even used leopard as a signature feature.

Thanks to all the talented designers, leopard can be today’s leopard, not the name of a fur, even not just the name of a print, it becomes a symbol of sophistication and elegance.

To me, the best way to rock this print is with accessories of course. You know I’m a big believer in accessorizing. A leopard scarf, my featured item today, or a pair of leopard pumps, which I will definitely discuss soon, will effortlessly add chicness to any outfit without be whelming. Let’s see how this star rocked her leopard scarf (picture from Instyle):

Leopard really goes well with reddish hues. The print adds wilderness to this solid color, thus gives the outfit more adventure feeling.

Besides the pairing above, a bold print always look great with neutrals: for an effortless chic look, you can pair it with white tee and dark blazer; for a sophisticated downtown look, you can wear it with light colored tweed jacket and ankle boots; for a casual yet stylish look, you can pair it with strip tee and statement shoes.

If you are in the market for a high-quality leopard scarf, consider cashmere silk blend material, which is soft and comfy, also can give you the warmth you need when temperature drops. The beloved one is the below from Louis Vuitton. I believe you already saw it on so many celebrities and fashion followers.

More affordable versions can also be found at Forever 21, Asos or Zara. I personally like this one from Bebe, the tassels make it more easy-going. Besides the low price, the material feels very soft, worth a try.

A blogger Wendy even scored her leopard scarf from a local fabric store and she wrote on her blog:” This year is not over yet, but I have to say that this find is probably my best purchase of the year.” (Pictures from wendyslookbook.com)
