Office Chic: White Pants

Last time I shared a great office outfit idea. Today, I have two more to help you beat the Monday blues, both incorporated a work wardrobe staple for warm weather: the white pants. LeAnn Rimes went for a sleek, slim version to offset her printed wrap blouse, while Jessica Alba opted for a dramatic, on-trend version and tamed it with a well-fitted pinstripe shirt. The sophisticated neutral palettes are office-friendly too.

Party Outfits: Nerdy Glasses & Dress Pants

Can’t find the perfect party dress? How about wearing pants instead! I’m a self-proclaimed Jenna Lyons style fanista. These two looks of her made me want to try pants for the coming holiday parties. The way she mixes lux satin, silk or fur with laid-back denim, jersey or cotton, and the way she combines colors are always so unexpected and inspiring.

Besides her chic, borrowed-from-the-boys style, another signature of her is definitely the nerd eyeglasses, which are the epitome of her well-balanced style. My favorite place to get eyeglasses is Warby Parker. The options they have are affordable and greatly crafted. Moreover, for every pair sold, they will distribute a pair to someone in need. So I know I shop for a good cause.

I’m currently obsessed with their new collection collaborated with beloved fashion stylist Leith Clark. You can find smart-looking frames in enchanting cobalt, crystal clear, retro round, flirty cat-eye…and more. Wow, eyeglasses can be so chic and fashionable!

除了她那独特的带有男孩风的优雅装扮外，她那副大的黑框眼镜也歪打正着，现在成了她独特的时尚标志之一。这几年平光镜的潮流也让不近视的我加入了“眼镜大军”。在美国我个人最喜欢买眼镜的地方是一个叫Warby Parker的网站，那里的眼镜不但价格很公道，做工也极好。而且每卖出去一副眼镜，他们会捐献一副给需要的人。对我这种购物狂来说，多少减轻了血拼的愧疚感：）现在他们和好莱坞的造型师Leith Clark合作推出了一个新的系列，把眼镜做得更时尚了，有抢眼的宝蓝色、未来感的透明色、流行的猫眼以及复古的圆形镜框等各种各样的选择。

Glamour in White: Event & Date Outfit Ideas

Social season requires multi-functional, season-appropriate yet style conscious pieces. With that in mind, today I picked two glamorous looks from Olivia Palermo, see how she pulled together elegant, fashionable looks that are great for many social events, from formal black tie to a baby shower or date night, by using pieces that can be easily restyled in many different ways.

Like how Raf Simons infused modern poetry to Dior’s bravura signatures, Olivia Palermo chose sleek white blazer to go with her opulent, luxurious organza skirt for the house’s couture show. Front row styles are my favorite to observe, I greatly appreciate outfits like this which capture the spirit of the brand, yet so wearable.

This look is great for formal events, gallery opening, museum exhibits, weddings or fancy dinner. The white blazer, black pumps, embellished belt and cuffs can polish up many casual outfits as well.

The second look below blended different styles harmoniously together: the edgy animal print shirt, girly flared skirt, cool aviator sunglasses and cut-out booties. This drop-waist skirt on her is a new trend this season. Since the flare starts at our hips, the best way to style them is with tops tucked in to highlight our waistline. An embellished belt helps to cinch the waist. Style savvy Olivia also used nude heels to elongate her slim legs.

Again, each piece in this outfit can be easily restyled: Wear the printed blouse with white skinny jeans or black cropped pants; Team the flared skirt with a peplum top or bomber jacket. The usage of the accessories (nude cut out sandals, blue bag and embellished belt) is endless.
