In honor of the coming vacation, today I picked three of my favorite looks, from emerging star Selena Gomez’s bright and trendy outfit to style-savvy Olivia Palermo’s elegant and mod number to the trendsetter Kate Moss’s boho chic ensemble, hope they can give you more ideas to effortlessly stand out in parties. The best tip? Let one piece be the focal point and build your outfit around it, like the crop top on Selena Gomez or the fringe kimono on Kate Moss.

Three Tips On Mixing Prints

How to mix patterns? Olivia Palermo modeled three key strategies: First, keep the patterns in the same scale, like the yellow chain print blouse and black/white wave print skort she worn showed above left; Secondly, tie your patterns together with one or two common colors, as showed above right, Olivia Palermo pulled out the perfect-for-fall burgundy in both patterns, making them blend together harmoniously; Thirdly, tone down the loudness with neutrals, as seen in her first look above, it’s the understated vest, purse and pumps ground the boldness.

In Chinese: 混搭图案有技巧。怎么做到‘乱中有序’呢？和Olivia Palermo学学这三招吧：第一，混搭的两种图案大小相对一致才会有整体感，比如左边的造型中黄色的链条衬衫和黑白的波纹裙；第二，这两种图案最好有一或两个共同色，比如右边的look里，Olivia Palermo用酒红把两件同样抢眼的单品混搭得浑然一体；第三，用一些低调、安静的中性色平衡热闹的图案，比如她的第一个造型里棕灰色的长马甲和相近色的手包、鞋子降低了明度和彩度，使整身look更协调，也更有季节感。

Winter Chic: Checks and Stripes

Fur or Faux fur pieces are cold weather essentials. They keep us stylish while shielding against winter chill. Today’s featured ladies gave us more fresh ideas of how to style these wardrobe staples:

Olivia Palermo mixed plaids to liven up her dark ensemble. Her relaxed pants work well in this outfit because the fur piece on her is a vest instead of a coat. The sheer blouse balances the loose silhouette while the eye-catching stilettos elongating her legs.

Alessandra Ambrosio’s striped fur coat is definitely the center piece, so she kept the others simple and quiet. The right-on-trend over-the-knee boots seen on her go great with mini skirt or shorts, exuding the right amount of sexiness. Olivia Palermo混搭了两种不同的格子图案给秋冬的暗沉色调增加了趣味。因为皮草本身具有膨胀感，所以我们一般搭配紧身的裤装，Olivia Palermo却选择了略宽松的款式，关键在于她的皮草单品是马甲，而且她用半透明的衬衫降低了潜在的臃肿感，她的裤装在脚踝处也做了收紧的处理，搭配上能拉长腿型的尖头高跟鞋，这种宽松加宽松的‘公式’才成立。
