I love analyzing model’s off-duty looks. Oftentimes, we see them on the most basic and simple wardrobe staples that get elevated by teaming with one or two key pieces: be it an IT bag, fabulous sunglasses, killer stilettos, scarlet lips, or just that confident attitude.

The one thing I admire greatly about top designers is their ability to lead us toward the territory we could never have imagined, present us clothes we never think of but would deeply feel in love with. Take graphic sweatshirts for example, it is until Riccardo Tisci introduced bambi print on his Fall 2013 runway, we suddenly realized that we need a printed sweatshirt in our closet, one that can bring back our sweet childhood memory, can express our emotions,  or just want to add a cool, edgy, whimsical touch to our outfits.

In Chinese: 杰出的设计师总是能把我们带到从未尝试过的新领域，呈现给我们那些我们自己从未想过，但是却再也离不开的单品。拿这一季最热的卡通动漫图案的运动衫来说吧，如果不是在Riccardo Tisci 为Givenchy设计的2013秋冬系列中看到小鹿斑比出现，我可能根本不会意识到我的衣柜里缺少一件这样有趣的单品。很多高端和高街品牌也相继推出了各种各样的印花运动衫，它们是冬天厚重毛衣的最佳替代品，保暖的同时，这些有趣图案或者勾起了我们童年的美好回忆，或者能表达我们当下的情绪，给我们沉闷的秋冬装扮注入了活力。

Military Chic: Army Jacket

Can fashion be practical and comfortable? Absolutely, military jacket is a brilliant example of that. It’s a great piece to throw on year-round. It goes with everything from basic T-shirt and jeans to glamorous maxi dress or polished pencil skirt. It compliments almost any color (from neutrals like brown to brights like orange) and prints (like stripes, leopard or florals).

A great tip on styling utility jacket is adding a luxe or feminine touch for the boy/girl vibe. As you can see from Olivia Palermo above, the camo pants, sleek boots on her enhance the utility chic while a floral printed blouse, haircalf skinny belt, designer handbag, ballet flats adding that delicate, luxurious touch.

I especially appreciate her attention to details: the pushed up sleeves showed off her beautiful sheer blouse underneath, a skinny or vintage belt highlighted her tiny waist, the unbuttoned shirt revealed just right amount of skin…

In Chinese: 时尚和实用可以兼备吗？当然可以，军装风的外套就是很好的例子。耐穿又耐脏，可单穿可混搭，既可以配短裤、牛仔裤，和长裙、铅笔裙等搭起来也别有风味。颜色更是百搭，无论配棕色黑色等中性色还是明橘、亮红等饱和色，无论搭条纹、动物纹还是印花，都很好看。

因为这种外套本身就有男孩子的酷帅感，所以我喜欢搭配有柔美或奢华感的细节来提升品质感。就像我们在Olivia Palermo身上看到的：迷彩裤和骑士靴呼应了军装外套的酷帅，精致的细腰带、奢华的手包、丝质或印花衬衫增加了女人味。

我尤其欣赏她对每一个细节的注意，比如把袖子略略推上去露出半透明的衬衫去和硬朗的外套做对比，把外套的扣子打开既有随意感又可以体现穿搭的层次，但是加一条腰带来强调腰线。深V的衬衫也展现了恰到好处的性感。
