There is no need to say more about Taylor Swift’s international influence. Beside the tremendous impact she has on the music world, her personal style is also having a large influence on the fashion world. Taking her fans into consideration, Taylor always dresses modesty, in good taste and in very feminine colors. Her style is wearable, accessible and easy to recreate.
Today, I want to share with you three of my favorite winter looks of her to help you solve the conundrum: how to select a coat that will work with our outfit, whether it’s for a night out, a day time activity or a laid-back weekend.
Camel and red are a great color combination that works at any age. A tailored red dress paired with nude pumps is a great go-to look for parties, especially during holiday season. Camel coat is a timeless, ageless winter staple. Let the red dress peep out under the coat, so that the whole look is not top-heavy.
A cobalt blue coat is my first recommendation if you are just starting to try colored winter coats. This color is flattering, attractive yet easy-going. The easy and safe way to wear it is pairing with black pieces (like the designer Stella McCartney paired here) or with items in the same color family (like how Emma Stone paired hers here). But my favorite is what Taylor Swift did (above middle): playing colorblock by pairing it with a bright orange sweater.
The third look (above right) is my favorite of the three. I never have a coat in this green-blue color. It goes so well with rich brown! I tried a similar one from Target and immediately feel in love with this fresh shade. For a coat with feminine silhouette and romantic color, I like to toughen it up with distressed chunky ankle booties.
