Rationalism and Practicalism: Max Mara and Its New Satchel

Chinese actress Chen Ran at Milan Fashion Week

I liked this Chinese girl when she showed up as a model at Paris fashion week back in 2010. She is bold enough to try variety of styles, either vintage or fashion-forward. But it was this look that really caught my eyes: tailored, streamlined white coat is so fresh and effortlessly chic; the sand beige Max Mara Satchel finished this elegant, stylish color palette perfectly . The whole look was a great illustration to the show she was going to watch– the Max Mara’s fall 2012 collection.

From Leather Pants to Maxi Dress: Give Your White Shirt A Chic Twist

I’m always in the market for high quality and great tailored basics, like blazer, white shirt, trench coat, black skinny jeans, leather work bag… They are the foundation of my wardrobe and I’m willing to pay for the best quality I can afford.

So I was so excited when I scored this EQUIPMENT Signature Blouse at half the price via Moda Operandi.  I have shopped at this site since last year. They have great deals on the latest runway looks and awesome custom service.

This shirt has everything I wanted: 100% silk, cute front pockets, casual vibe and perfect size. I cannot wait to pair it with the red Rag & Bone high waist skinny jeans that I pre-ordered several months ago. Both of them will arrive in July. I will definitely share them with you.

Reminded by my newest shirt, I decided to do this featured post as part of my “white essential pieces” series. (Check other related posts here and here.)

It’s Audrey Hepburn who made me fell in love with white shirts. Who doesn’t like the photo below?  Of course <Mad Men> helps a lot too (you know what I mean). Menswear can always give women a sexy twist, let alone the crisp fresh color.

Feminine Luxury Meets Downtown Chic: Jason Wu’s Jourdan Tote

I adore big structure bags with detachable straps. They are stylish yet versatile. They can hold all of our essentials from Ipad, documents to makeups and snacks and can also add some downtown chic to our looks.

But when it comes to color choices, the decision can be tough: This kind of bag in black and brown plus the rigid shape of the bag tends to make me look formal and heavy. Other bright colors are not so versatile. So white is my favorite choice: The clean color adds more feminine grace to the bag, and can instantly make us spring/summer-ready. That’s why I was so happy to see Rosie huntington Whiteley caring her white tote in NYC:
