Besides the different kinds of lust-worthy red pumps that we shared in my last entry, handbag is another great way to incorporate this bright, dynamic hue. Today, let’s start with those we use most in daily life–big totes.

Nicole Richie is known for her edgy Bohemian style. Today’s look is no exception: the tie dye dress perfectly showed her casual chic sensibility with an infusion of Bohemia, while the eye-catching Givenchy tote, Balenciaga ankle boots, beanie and sunglasses keeping the look modern and edgy.

This outfit is great for weekend getaways, hanging out with friends or running errands, also a stylish option for pregnant women like myself: I’m living in my loose shift dresses and flat ankle booties now!

When the color scheme becomes as simple as you can see on the right look above, it’s the detail that really matters: from the subtle brown trim on her sweater to the asymmetrical hemline of her skirt to the cap-toe oxford. The colorblock red tote really brightened up the whole look while echoing the simplicity. Change the mini skirt into shorts, skinny jeans or cropped pants, this look is great for women at any age!

How to use a pop of red to create more ladylike, party-ready outfits? Coming soon!

My Top Holiday Gift Picks For Every Family Member

With the major promotions going on now, I decided to take full advantage of them and get things that have been on my list for a while for each family member… and some for myself.

These five places are where I always keep an eye on, and have been fortunate enough to get things I want the most: Shopbop (top must have is this “it bag”, now 35% off with code BIGEVENT12! Plus their year-round 70% off sales, great place to get all the iconic pieces that rarely go on sale combined with great deals); Saks Fifth Avenue (It’s the place I score high-fashion pieces. Various discounts now plus free shipping/return with code HOLIDAY); Ralph Lauren (you can never go wrong with Ralph Lauren. Extra 25% off and free shipping); Nordstrom (With free shipping and returns every day, it is a reliable place where I don’t need to worry about promotion code and expiration date). J.crew (My favorite affordable brand. 25% off with code COLOR25 both in-store and online. Stores may have deeper discount whereas you have more size options online. Popular pieces sell out quickly).

In my opinion, the best gift is what he or she wants but don’t necessarily need or splurge on. Below are my picks, hope can give you some inspirations. Don’t forget to share with me your gift ideas!

Sorry about my one-week absence. I moved into a new apartment. The whole packing-unpacking process left me no time for blogging. But I do have several home decorating tips when rearranging my new place. Will definitely share with you soon.

Back to our topic today. You might remember the off-duty look from Karmen Pedaru (in the middle of the first image above) I featured here.
