Checks, stripes and polka dots are classic patterns that can be found in every woman’s wardrobe. But have you considered putting the three all together? The key is sticking to a simple color palette, like the basic black and white one seen on Olivia Palermo above.
Mixing two patterns that share at least one common color and the print elements are similar, is one easy way to get started. Once you are comfortable with the pattern-on-pattern look, start varying the sizes, then gradually add another pattern in. It’s advisable not to wear more than 3 patterns in the same outfit, which also get approved in today’s looks.
