Hi everyone, sorry it has been a few days since blogging. I just updated my laptop to a touchscreen ultrabook. It will greatly help me make more beautiful images for all of you. But some of my handy softwares have problem running on the new system, it took me quite a while to get used to the new photo editing software.
Besides my new “workhorse”, another thing exciting my lately is that my favorite designer Stella McCartney won “Designer of the Year” at British Fashion Awards this Tuesday! She is the best candidate in my heart and I’m so happy for her!
I deeply admire her not because of the fact that she is the daughter of Paul McCartney, she is the Creative Director for the 2012 Olympics by adidas, her collection attracts such a diverse array of wearers from Kate Moss to Kate Middlton, but because of her personality, her love for her Mom that reflects on her collections, her philosophy behind the design, and her well balanced life as a successful designer, and a mother of four.
Her collection is practical (her chic looks are great examples to show how well her pieces fit modern women’s lifestyle), ethical (she never uses animal product) and tasteful (I personally think no wardrobe is complete without Stella McCartney’s sharp blazer, oversized sweater and the legendary ‘Falabella’ bag).
Since it’s winter now, let’s share some of her effortlessly chic cold weather looks as a nod for her outstanding taste and successful career. As I said here, a statement coat is all that matters during this time of the year. You can see from the three looks above, what she was wearing are all basics lying in our wardrobe: from skinny jeans, to ankle booties, to basic pumps and simple LBD, all she did is just throw on a fabulous coat.
Deep blue is “the color” this season. This blue coat (in first image right) shows how versatile, stylish and easy-to-wear the things Stella McCartney designed. Move to the white one (above left), I love how chic she is even during pregnancy.Wearing something white in winter is so fresh. Pair it with other neutrals (brown, grey or black) for a sophisticated look. For the even more practical red and black coats, throw on a pair of patent leather booties or suede knee-high boots, you are good to go!
Below I picked the most stylish coats this season in different price range. Pull out the basics in your wardrobe, recreate your own effortlessly chic winter go-to outfits!
