Fresh Ways To Wear Your Grey Sweatshirt

Did you remember last time I featured grey sweatshirt? Yes, the temperature was still high then, but I just couldn’t wait to wear it. If striped tees are my spring/summer staple (you saw it a lot in my blog), then grey sweatshirts are definitely my fall/winter must-haves.

Grey is my favorite neutral shade: it’s not so harsh compared to white, not too heavy compared to black. It’s understated, elegant and sophisticated. No wonder royal members love grey (remember this post)? Thanks to the “Fifty Shades of Grey”, designers turn to grey in their 2013 spring collections. So get ready to brace it year-round!

Apparently, I’m not the only crazy fan of grey sweatshirt, as you can see above, from celebrities to fashion bloggers, they all made their own pin with this versatile staple piece. And as always, the trick is to balance.

Alexa Chung balanced plain sweatshirt with girly pieces, then added wild leopard bag and edgy studded pumps to tough it up. Olivia Palermo balanced her grey sweatshirt with feminine skirt and metallic pointy-toe pumps (the burgundy hue and silver cap make it a must-have this season).

Kate Bosworth has been spotted on grey sweatshirt many times. She wore it with maxi skirt and of-the-moment sneakers for a late-summer girly yet sporty look; with sleek wool pencil skirt and velvet bow belt for a fun yet polished look (love the mixed textures!)

Jessica Alba also went for a playful yet sharp vibe by teaming her grey sequin tie sweater with printed pants (for fall, I will go with jacquard print like this one) and sophisticated pumps.
