I love denim pieces. Especially during this fall/winter, luxurious pieces like jacquard, brocade or embellished ones are having a major moment, denim separates are more necessary than ever: they can effortlessly tune down any extravagant looks to achieve a more “balanced” outfit that I mentioned many times in my blog.
And I never get tired of seeing trend setters wearing denim shorts season after season during fashion weeks. They are truly a timeless staple:
Throw on a casual sweatshirt, comfy flats and a statement necklace, you get a laid back yet stylish look. For an after party, change sweatshirt to delicate printed silk blouse and slip into your favorite stilettos.
If you want to embrace the “wear white after labor day” trend, then team your denim shorts with white graffiti T-shirt for a casual look; With a silk white button-down and beautifully layered gold necklaces, of-the-moment Valentino voom crocodile shoulder bag for a sophisticated look. When the temperature drops, add a jewel-toned leather jacket (try this burgundy or this green) to keep you warm and stylish.
Below are three of my favorite ways to wear my denim shorts in this fall: Outfit No.1 combines all of my beloved pieces: from multi-material coat to burgundy booties, from classic striped shirt to edgy stud wrap watch. Change the coat to a denim jacket, you get a casual relaxed look that nailed the denim-on-denim trend.

Outfit No.2 is about how to mix trendy pieces (this embellished top here) with classic pieces (denim shorts). I love the color block designs on this tweed-leather bag and the sophisticated yet classic ankle-wrap snake-skin pumps. It will definitely be my first choice for a night out.

Outfit No.3 is all about staying casual yet playful and edgy. I adore this denim shorts for its beautiful tie-dye color. Pair it with a grey sweatshirt (remember this post?) to let the shorts do the talk. Keep all the accessories in the same tone but all with interesting details (like the spike on this necklace, the fun stripes on this bag) to enhance the edgy yet playful vibe of the look.
