If I could describe Marc Jacobs spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection in three words, they would be “stripe, stripe and stripe”. Yes! We saw different types of stripes throughout the whole show (and outside of the show too).
Marc is really a chameleon. The outsized wonky fur hats and cumbersome imbalanced coats he designed for this fall/winter are still vivid in our minds, suddenly he turned to something so fresh, playful and wistful.
Who doesn’t love stripes? But for the next spring, Marc Jacobs will take us to the original stripes: pure, high contrast black and white (or quiet earthy neutral tone). Every piece is so intense and existential. Even all the accessories are in basic black and white. “Brutal in its simplicity” like the talented designer said after the show. And that will be the key word for next spring.
Inspired by him, I picked several pieces that I love to share with you. Let’s embrace stripes right now! First is what we all need in fall/winter- striped pullovers. Pair them with blackened jeans and distressed booties for a sleek, minimalism look; with a dipped-hem skirt and a bold textured leather clutch for an unexpected eye-catching night out look; with a pair of lace shorts and metallic oxfords for an ease, laid-back weekend look.

Dresses and skirts are must-haves for girls. Why not choose striped ones? Either this classic pencil skirt with vertical stripes which can elongate our legs, or this tulip shaped one with timeless color palette which has the beloved pockets; or this oversized dress from the designer Marc Jacobs that has fashion-forward yet universally flattering silhouette.

Striped blazers are a big trend this spring. Since they will still stay hot in the next spring, there is no better than now to get them when they went on sale. Or pick a new-arrived striped trench coat that is perfect for the coming fall.

Last but certainly not least are striped accessories! It’s so hard to pick one out from the below.
