1. Susana Monaco (on sale; knee length version here)
2. Toy G. (great style here)
3. Forever 21 (under $8 with great reviews; adore this leather version)

I think every woman under 40 should have at least one bright colored mini skirt in her wardrobe. For me, it’s the youthful and modern version of classic pencil skirt; it’s a wonderful piece to play color blocking or just to add a splash of a bright hue; Moreover, like a fitted top to an A-line skirt, a slim skirt goes perfectly with a loose, breezy top, resulting a great proportion that we all need.

The best part? You can wear it year-round! Pair it with a flowy top with a contrasting color, a pair of metallic sandals, and, this is optional, an accessory in a third color, then you get a stunning summer night out outfit, like Poppy Delevingne did (above left). Throw on a loose fit sweater and a pair of ankle booties, you easily and stylishly transform it into fall and winter. If still feel cold, you can always wear a pair of tights underneath (gray tights go well with orange skirt) and your trusty warm coat, like Andy did (above right).

Since summer is already half over, what better time than now to get your own bright slim skirt? Good luck!

I'm Helen. In the huge fashion world, what attracts me the most is the way different people accessorize themselves. Our daily outfit choices are not just about the pieces we pick, they relate to something lurking deeply within our hearts: how we feel about ourselves, how we express ourselves to the rest of the world, what kind of people do we want to be and what kind of life do we want to live. Following my passion for fashion, I immerse myself in this bizarre world and try my best to share what I learned with you!
