Denim overalls, which are related to workwear or our childhood memories, are now making a strong fashion revival. To better style them, I picked four of my favorite looks from style savants, hope they can inspire you to master this trend.

Keira Knightley’s look below may be the easiest way to style an overall, also the closest to its utility root. Striped top, sneakers and glasses invoke the preppy vibe of denim overalls.

Rihanna’s look is my favorite. By staying in a simple and refreshing color palette, balancing masculine and feminine, and of course, with her signature nonchalant attitude and free spirit, she blended several hottest trends (the bomber jacket, cropped top, overalls, white add-ons) harmoniously together.

Fresh Summer Looks: White Blazer & Colorful Dress

Last time, we shared two ways to style a white blazer: one is bold, another is laid-back chic. If neither fit you, today’s looks you will surely love: two girly, sweet outfits from American’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon.

Although she is already a mother-of-three, her looks always have a youthful, girly and optimistic flair. She knows her strength and what suits her best:

Start from the blazer, this particular one on her has a mix of subtle textures: twill, satin and leather (yes! the notched lapels are beautifully made of smooth white leather!) which give the whole look a luxurious, elegant and fashionable vibe.

White blazer creates the perfect canvas for beautiful bright colors. The fresh red printed skirt and blue dress on her are perfect for warm weather. To highlight her lean legs, she chose above-knee versions, with nude sandals, the total look is leg-elongating.

For women about her age, I would say don’t be afraid to try above-the-knee length skirt/dress, as long as you choose age-appropriate patterns/colors, and keep your arms covered with a cardigan or a well-tailored jacket.

Last but not least, accessories are great to keep up with trends without being overdone, like the white IT bag, safety chain cuff, strappy sandals and layered necklaces you see on the star.

White blazer is truly a wardrobe essential that we can pull out and restyle every spring/summer. This particular style by Rebecca Minkoff has been so popular. Besides the impeccable cut, structured silhouette, silk material and variety of color options (also here & here), what attracted me the most are the unique shawl lapels, pointed hemline and high-low length. No wonder it has been loved by celebrities, trendsetters and fashion bloggers.

Today’s featured looks from Olivia Palermo showed us how versatile it is: It can polish up a laid back, distressed-jeans-with-ballet-flat combo or tone down bold colorful silk-cami-and-sheer-maxi-skirt look. For casual basic look like above right, one or two eye-catching accessories can instantly elevate it, be it a statement bag, an opulent necklace or a pair of trendy sunglasses; For a busy bold look like above left, it’s better to keep all the pieces in a similar color family: the yellow cami, brown printed maxi skirt, strappy sandals and metallic belt are all warm, rich color tones, thus they blend harmoniously without overwhelming.
