Year-Round Fashion Staple: Striped Blazer

As a piece combined two of our favorites–classic nautical stripes and sleek silhouette–striped blazer is surely a permanent resistant in our closet.

When hunting, look for details or special add-ons that make your striped blazer stand out, like the bold trim or flirty peplum seen on Oliva Palermo’s jackets (check out how she styled the same jacket for summer here)

Since stripes are so classic, you can style them as you do with other neutrals: team them with various of stripes, mix them with floral, leopard, polka dots, or brighten them up with pops of color.

Keep them fresh and current by adding of-the-moment accessories, be it a pair of mirrored sunglasses, menswear-inspired Oxford or a beanie, or infusing a fashionable element, like the sensational orange and pink color combination seen on Palermo.

Many of our beloved fashion staples are borrowed from the boys: pantsuit, trench coat, loafers…. and today’s featured iconic piece–the bomber jacket. Originally designed for Air Force pilots, bomber jacket is now deeply loved by women for its versatility, chic clean lines and leg-elongating cropped cut.

The best way to style menswear-inspired pieces is balancing them with feminine, sexy elements, be it a pair of skinny jeans, a scarlet lip, mini skirt, or sexy pointy toe pump. Structured blazer and distressed jeans go together like peanut butter and jelly, they compliment each other, and reflect today’s fashion: putting the two opposites together and blurring the boundaries of off-duty & on-duty.

I featured the above two looks incorporated this versatile yet universally flattering combo, showing how these two stylish icons put their own spin on it:

Miranda Kerr’s bow-embellished pointy toe loafer, enviable designer bag and her signature red lip elevate the look, adding a feminine and sophisticated touch to it, while Jessica Alba’s moody floral print top and must-have ankle booties lend an effortlessly chic and cool vibe to her monochrome ensemble.

西装外套和破洞牛仔裤的混搭正体现了今天时尚的精髓，一切关乎平衡，把看似不同世界的东西放在一起，不断地挑战和创新，线上、线下，工作、休闲的着装界限已逐渐模糊，方便轻松转换以适应各种场合、并彰显个性的混搭方式越来越受到欢迎。
