Summer is around the corner, I really want to take the time and dedicate myself to a series posts about timeless white essentials. My first pick is white blazers. In my previous post, I shared with you five stylish ways of pairing white blazer with black pieces. By adding different accessories or trying the different materials or cuts of the blazer, we can achieve totally different styles.
Today, in our part 2 of white blazer series, I want to share with you how to rock white blazers with colorful or interest and fun pieces: from stripes and prints, from solid colors to romantic floral, from shorts to skirt, from leather to denim…There are so many lessons we need to learn.
Lesson 1 is from Miranda Kerr and Michelle Williams. Both of them were using the same style “formula”(I hate to use the word “formula” or “rule” when it comes to fashion, my only rule is looking good,having fun. But let’s just use this word to express the similar fashion ideas or the easy ways to pair certain garments): stripes+bold solid color+white blazer=eye catching fresh look. The white blazer can turn down the intense contrasts, also add a crisp touch to the outfit.
If you think stripe and bold color combo is too noisy, consider this two look from Vanessa Bruno and affordable Mango (adore this one!). Change the stripe to other “quiet” neutral colors, like gray or ivory.
Lesson 2 is inspired by Eva Longoria and a model. From them, we know that this blazer-and-shorts look works perfectly on both petites and tall girls.
My suggestion to this combo is choosing one as your statement piece, like Eva’s leather shorts or the model’s edgy booties. These two looks using Tibi and Theory blazers show us the similar idea:
Lesson 3: wear white on white. This is one of my favorite pairing. After all, we all share the same dream of becoming a princess, like the innocent “Snow White”. Olsens Anonymous and Blake Lively showed us how to wear white on white. They look sweet,elegant yet modern and chic.
Among all the white ensembles, I love these two below: the elegant and luxury look from Lanvin and the effortless chic and youthful look from Zara:
Lesson 4 incorporates the hot floral trend this season. The Structure of the blazer really balanced the feminism, softness, and casual vibe of floral pieces. By adding another print like the snake skin pumps on Nicole-Richie and the different floral pattern on the model, you can create a fun, modern look.

Below are two looks pairing white jacket from Free People and white blazer from ADDISON with floral pieces. Love the contrast between the two different materials.
Lesson 5 is for those who think floral is too girly, want to try something sexy. You can pair white blazer with animal prints! Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss’s looks below are two perfect examples. The pure and clean white blazer makes the wild and sexy print dress so stylish. Pay extra attention to their shoes!
To achieve their look, consider the two below: The left model in Preen blazer shows us how to wear this bold pattern in the office: Keep the color palette neutral, like black and white, then add a bold colored bag to brighten up the whole look. The right model wears Acne jacket to pull out a very youthful look. I consider her animal print skinny jeans this season’s essential too.
Lesson 6 and 7 are something for everyone–pairing white blazer with jeans. Skinny jeans are the easiest one to try, so I want to save time for other jeans, like the boyfriend jeans on Anne Hathaway and Kim Kardashian: Anne’s look is perfect for running errands, attending the classes or travelling, while Kim’s look is a great choice for a night out.
Or try the wide-leg jeans on Kourtney Kardashian and Elle Macpherson: Kourtney’s updo, delicate earrings, gold watch and embellished belt make her look good enough for a party. Elle paired her blazer with sunnies and flip-flops for a casual and laid back look.
These two model’s below both wear the same jacket from Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti . Love their animal print shoes, which make the otherwise plain outfits more sophisticated.
