Leather Jacket Styles: Laid-back Chic

As the third and final part of “leather jacket styles” series, this entry is about how to style it with casual everyday pieces. It may sound easier, but I personally think it’s the hardest one. Compared to the trendy printed dresses and bold eye-catching pieces we shared in my last two posts, laid-back items need more effort to reach the “effortlessly”chic level while reflecting your own personality.

For basic combinations like leather jacket and jeans, the best way to make it more “yours” is through details and accessories. Take today’s two looks for example: the retro round sunglasses, edgy arrow necklace, oversized tote and printed pumps give Nichole Richie’s leather jacket and jeans combo an urban bohemian vibe which the star is best known for; whereas the distressed details on the jeans, classic striped tee, ankle booties and understated practical messenger bag reflect Alessandra Ambrosio’s off-duty, casual yet polished style.
