Glamorous In Blue (Holiday Dresses For Different Body Shapes)

I love love blue. I dedicated my very first post to azure blue, bought my very first pair of designer jeans in cobalt blue, and picked my prom dress in peacock-blue. I remember a long time ago, I came across a book about how to choose your best colors. The author said that your striking color is the closest one to your veins.

For most of us, of course the color should be a certain shade of blue. I think that’s why blue is so widely loved, from royal members (Kate Middleton has been spotted in blue countless times) to the little girls next door (I never forget the blue dress Alice worn in Wonderland) to famous cartoon characters (from Snow White to Mouse Minnie. Yes! They all wear blue dresses!).

So when Christmas comes, the first dress jumped in my head is a blue one. For those of you who also love this color, I picked three of my favorite looks above. They are totally different styles and are great examples of dressing for different body types!

Stella McCartney’s dress is elegant with a whimsical twist. This loose-fitting silhouette is great for women who target belly as their problem area. The oversized shape will cover it all, and make you look slim, chic and fashion forward.

The middle look above is breathtaking! Maybe Kate Middleton’s big deep blue engagement ring is still in my mind, the elegant blue color and beautiful glitter embellishments around Mia Wasikowska’s neck and waist make this look oh-so-elegant! The fit and flare shape flatters many body types, especially those of you who have boyish body shapes and want to create hourglass figures, or who have pear-shaped body and want to cover the upper thigh area.

Charlize Theron is the women I truly admire. Her looks always remind me how powerful your inner light can be. This body-conscious dress is for those of you who is confident in yourself, not shy about your body. For a sexy dress like this, killer booties and a scarlet lip are the only accessories you need.
