What would you wear if you attended this year’s Chanel haute couture show? Well, British model Poppy Delevigne’s choice is simple white blouse and denim skirt combo.

Yes, I know it’s hard to use these simple pieces to pull together an outstanding outfit in the crown for the biggest name’s most extravagant collection. But Poppy Delevigne made it.

The tricks are all in the details: her blouse is made of satin, which is more lush and luxurious than cotton or silk; her denim skirt has the right length (here, knee-high is more appropriate than mini), high waist design (which adds a feminine and retro vibe) and details (the buttons and trim); More important, her glittery shoes instantly transform the look.

Jennifer Neyt (editor of Vogue.fr) also shared the same color palette (denim and white) and the same “style formula” (classic denim piece+ crisp white garment+statement shoes= an effortlessly chic outfit).

But different to Poppy Delevigne’s luxurious, glamorous look, Jennifer Neyt’s look is edgy, polished and chic.

Which look do you prefer? How will you try this “styling formula” by using your own pieces?

By Helen Hou

I'm Helen. In the huge fashion world, what attracts me the most is the way different people accessorize themselves. Our daily outfit choices are not just about the pieces we pick, they relate to something lurking deeply within our hearts: how we feel about ourselves, how we express ourselves to the rest of the world, what kind of people do we want to be and what kind of life do we want to live. Following my passion for fashion, I immerse myself in this bizarre world and try my best to share what I learned with you!
