Maxi dress is undoubtedly a wardrobe staple. Among so many choices, I especially adore the simplicity and versatility of a sleek black maxi dress. Last summer I shared three ways to style them. This summer, as a trend of this season, the color black takes the center stage. No better time to score your own black maxi dress and make the best use of it all the way through fall!
As you can see from the four looks of Miranda Kerr (above), with the simple silhouette and never-go-out-of style color, a black maxi dress can take us anywhere: Team it with ankle booties, studded tote and oversized sunglasses, you get an effortlessly chic “models off-duty” inspired look; Wear it with glamorous heels and fine jewelry, you are party-ready; Top it off with a denim jacket, printed crossbody bag and flip-flops, you are laid-back yet stylish; Pair it with a light weight scarf, leather jacket and easy walk shoes, you get a comfy yet polished travel outfit, the list goes on…

The best part of a black maxi dress is that you can transform it simply by changing accessories. Want an urban bohemian look? Wear a printed scarf as a belt, finish it off with gladiator sandals. Need a rock ‘n roll touch? Add a studded tote and killer booties…
Of course you always have the option of wearing it as a skirt by adding a graphic tee, a chambray shirt or a military vest, as you can see from the looks below.

At 22 weeks pregnant, the discomfort is almost gone, I’m starting to enjoy this journey now. And exciting news to share with all of you: we are expecting a —- boy! He is so active everyday. Even during my ultrasound, he kept moving around, sucking his little fingers.
My body has changed a lot in the past five months. With the limited (and boring) clothing choices, handbags have become my trusty friends to keep my outfits fresh and updated. Luckily, this catalog is always worth the investment, whether we are expecting or not, right?
Starting from last season, the key word for handbags has become “small”. For those of you who are also in the market for a great arm candy for the warm weather ahead, or investment versions that can be carried year round, I picked six types of stylish cross body bags/clutches that I’m lusting over. Hope can give you some inspirations to find your trusty go-to bag that will surly brighten your day!
Black and white is a huge color trend now and also a timeless classic combination. For the of-the-moment checkered pattern, you can recreate your own with this affordable Forever21 bag. For the never-go-out-of-style striped version, this one by Marc Jacobs is definitely worth the investment, it is covered in over 135,000 paillettes, truly a collectible art piece!

Colored bags are also something we never get bored with. There are a bevy of options: from the modern colorblock version to stunning geometric pattern to luscious floral print… They can instantly brighten up your neutral outfit, or add flourish to your equally eye-catching garment.

Last one (below) is a seasonal option: a woven wick bag or wood bead clutch. They are not usually considered as essential pieces, but they caught my eyes every time. Compared to ubiquity leather, these natural materials are refreshingly cool. The understated appeal and inherent quaint beauty make the carrier stand out.
