Red Jacket, Two Ways

Colors ruled fall/winter 2013 runways, from classic primary hues like red and blue to pretty pastels like lavender (Not surprised since we saw so many black & white this spring/summer). Today’s featured ladies rocked this color trend in two totally different ways:

Colors, gingham, lace, cut-outs are all in one outfit? Sounds busy, but Olivia Palermo nailed it by keeping the color palette simple. This outfit (above left) is trendy and glamorous, great for the coming holiday parties.

Natalia Vodianova’s take (above right) on red blazer followed the classic model’s off-duty way: teaming it with perfect fit skinny jeans, sexy black pumps and a classic quilted bag. Mixing one trend with our oldies and goodies is always a smart way to look chic & current without trying too hard.

Menswear Chic: Bomber Jackets

Many of our beloved fashion staples are borrowed from the boys: pantsuit, trench coat, loafers…. and today’s featured iconic piece–the bomber jacket. Originally designed for Air Force pilots, bomber jacket is now deeply loved by women for its versatility, chic clean lines and leg-elongating cropped cut.

The best way to style menswear-inspired pieces is balancing them with feminine, sexy elements, be it a pair of skinny jeans, a scarlet lip, mini skirt, or sexy pointy toe pump. Olivia Palermo always goes one step further: how fashionable are these two bomber jackets on her? Love the edgy leather quilt and sophisticated color block on them!

Colored Blazer: Dress Up or Down

While looking for new ways to restyle my suit separates in more fresh ways, I found these two looks of Olivia Palermo are very inspiring:

The cherry color of her blazer is sophisticated but still have that eye-catching effect, let alone the great fit, the classic & flattering one-button design and friendly price tag.

Pairing the blazer with jeans and flats is not something new, but again, it’s the details make Olivia Palermo’s look stand out: the color block on her top, distressed and well-worn vibe of her jeans, python print on her flat and vintage look of her bag.

When dressing the blazer up, instead of going matchy-matchy, look for pants or skirts that has the very similar color but with interesting details/textures or different material, like the leather version on Palermo.

Instead of a regular pump, go for a printed or embellished pointy toe flat, which has the same professional look, but add a trendy and youthful touch, also shows off your character.

我们衣橱里一定都有几套正式的套装，整套搭配起来太过严肃和呆板，我常常会把套装中的一件和衣橱里的其它单品混搭起来，Olivia Palermo的这两个look可以给我们一些适合休闲及正式场合的混搭灵感。

她所选的藕荷色的西装外套（现在正打折！）比糖果色优雅正式，和传统的黑蓝灰比起来又更时尚抢眼。Olivia Palermo常穿来自Reiss这个牌子的单品，设计经典简约又不乏大胆前卫的元素，价格又非常合理。

这种休闲正式皆相宜的西装外套我们都会想到搭配T恤或牛仔裤，但Olivia Palermo的这个休闲的look胜在细节：撞色细节真丝背心，破洞的仿旧水洗九分裤，蛇纹的芭蕾鞋配上猫眼墨镜和大的复古皮革包。

要穿去正式场合时，挑选和外套颜色相近但材质独特或有设计细节的裤装或裙子做搭配：比如Olivia Palermo所穿的这条来自另个品牌The Row的皮裤呼应了今年秋冬流行的淡雅色系及皮革风。

鞋款的选择上，低跟、男士鞋款、尖头、金属装饰等都是这一季的关键词。这个豹纹的铆钉装饰尖头平底鞋是本季的必备，百搭又彰显个性。
