Fur or Faux fur pieces are cold weather essentials. They keep us stylish while shielding against winter chill. Today’s featured ladies gave us more fresh ideas of how to style these wardrobe staples:

Olivia Palermo mixed plaids to liven up her dark ensemble. Her relaxed pants work well in this outfit because the fur piece on her is a vest instead of a coat. The sheer blouse balances the loose silhouette while the eye-catching stilettos elongating her legs.

Alessandra Ambrosio’s striped fur coat is definitely the center piece, so she kept the others simple and quiet. The right-on-trend over-the-knee boots seen on her go great with mini skirt or shorts, exuding the right amount of sexiness. As a petite girl myself, I find that the most flattering jackets for me are cropped or hip-length ones. The latter are especially versatile for their seasonless apparel and easy-going vibe: they go great with almost anything, from dresses to leggings, from skinny jeans to wide-leg trousers; they add extra warmth without overwhelming our frame; they are also acceptable indoor & outdoor.

The only downside of hip-length jackets is they can cut our legs. To avoid that, cinch the coat at the waist with a belt or choose those already done for us like this fabulous Reiss jacket on Kate Middleton, which has the feminine fit and flare silhouette and sophisticated clean lines. Style savvy Olivia Palermo used a jeweled brooch to draw eyes up, which also help elongate her legs.

I’m very impressed by Celine Dion’s looks lately. She said that she is in the greatest place in her life. The happiness and joy are surely reflected in her uplifting outfits. Today’s featured looks of her are fresh, trendy with Celine’s classic elegant touches.

Besides teaming skinny bottoms with an oversized winter coat for a well-balanced look, there are more we can learn from her, especially the way she used colors: for graphic black/white color theme, she accessoried with deep, rich jewel tones like emerald green, whereas for softer white/grey color theme, she chose light peachy pink for an oh-so-fresh look. These two outfits are great for any age, get inspired and recreate yours!
