Back to our topic today. You might remember the off-duty look from Karmen Pedaru (in the middle of the first image above) I featured here. I focused on her Valentino studded pumps then. But the understated Givenchy Antigona satchel has been on my wish list since then. Now after Miranda Kerr carried it several times lately and all of the looks are so sexy yet sophisticated chic, I feel like I can’t let the iconic bag go this time.

Designed by Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy Antigona sheds his signature modern, contemporary yet romantic style, also has the attractive masculine and feminine contrast heritated from the Boston bag where the designer’s inspiration from. Although it comes in variety of materials and colors, my first option is of course the basic black.
Versatile color combined with the thoughtful details (the clean lines, the minimum design, the structured silhouette, the shoulder strap, the big, smooth zip…) makes this bag classic and timeless. As you can see from the photos above, from sexy, glamorous Miranda Kerr, to sleek, edgy Karmen Pedaru, to bohemian chic Nichole Richie, this black Antigona complimented their outfits perfectly. The reflection of Riccardo Tisci’s signature Gothic touches adds characters to it.
When it comes to the size, you may have the same question: small or medium? I’m petite, medium would swallow my 5′ 1” frame. The small size fits me perfectly and is roomy enough for all of my essentials. For those who are taller (5’5” and above), both medium and small will work. I will recommend small If you want a delicate look and medium if you need to carry a lot of stuff around and mainly use it during the day.
In the photos above, both Mirranda Kerr (left) and Karmen Pedaru (middle) are carrying the size medium, which is 13″ square x 8″deep and weighs approx. 3lbs. For your reference, Mirranda Kerr is 5’9” and Karmen Pedaru is 5’10”.
