Black and white epitomize the modern simplicity, but today’s featured fashion maven reinterpreted this classic combination: By adding ethereal white skirt, jeweled belt and embellished strap pumps, Olivia Palermo gave this monochrome palette a feminine and graceful vibe; By teaming a sheer surplice blouse with an equally eye-catching wide-leg striped trousers, Zanita Morgan made a strong impression that is bold, adventural yet so chic and infectious.

Attention to details always matters: from Olivia Palermo’s impeccable hair and dainty jewelry to Zanita Morgan’s messy waves and revolver pendant necklace, each serves for the overall result and impact.

Perfect Match: Peplum Top & Pencil Skirt

Peplum is the hottest word last season, and will still be around this year. That little extra fabric makes a huge difference: it perfectly reshapes our body by creating that attractive “S” silhouette while allowing us to eat one more piece of cake.

There are many ways to wear this style: with jeans (skinny, boyfriend or distressed), cropped pants or skater skirt. But the more feminine way? With pencil skirt. The body hugging pencil skirt highlights the exaggerated peplum, gives the whole look a sexy vibe.

Since both pieces (peplum top and pencil skirt) are so feminine, to balance it out, today’s look is a perfect example: the military style and neutral palette of her jacket grounded the bright skirt and pumps while the colorblock bag adding a sleek, modern touch.
