As always, details make this one-second transformation work, and ensure both looks are chic: The pieces on you should be versatile, as those on Olivia Palermo: a brown slim fit sweater and black leather pants can both be dressed up or down easily; the textured black leather handbag is equally edgy and formal. As for the sneaker she chose, the leather material and thick white rubber sole add chic details. Compared to basic neutral or solid colored pumps, a printed floral version screams “spring” and instantly brightens up the look.

A simple, basic striped tee has been a classic fashion staple that can be easily spotted year after year. This season, it takes the center stage again. I like every detail of the first look (below). With the perfect blend of menswear chicness and understated sex appeal, baggy leather pants are even more popular than the skinny versions now. Pair them with soft striped tee, you easily get a care-free yet seductive silhouette.

Continue the chic color palette by adding white accessories (like the white pumps and tote showed below). A bold coat like this one not only brightens up the look and keeps us warm in chilly weather, but also adds a mesmerizing juxtaposition.  

This outfit is definitely what I would wear for this spring. It’s great for many occasions: brunch, weekend get-together, or date night. Also a stylish option for the office if you work in a creative environment. The elastic band on the baggy pants even fits my five month pregnant body.

Nicole Warne has a unique ability to pull together a retro yet still modern-looking outfit. This look of her blends many spring trends together seamlessly: black and white stripes, floral prints and bright solid colors.

Mixing stripes with floral prints is not a new trick, but just like some other combinations that we never get tired of (leather with chiffon, denim with Jacquard, stripes with polka dots, and more… ) we just love to see the juxtaposition.

Besides the basic black pump, you can also choose blue or green one to bring out the breathing-taking print on this skirt (isn’t it pretty? I can’t stop looking at it!). If you are not ready to use bold colors on big pieces, like her bright coat, then this colorblock clutch is a perfect option. Add a black blazer and structured leather tote, you can definitely wear this outfit to the office.

In my fifth month of pregnancy, my regular clothes don’t accommodate the growing belly any more, but I really don’t want to invest in maternity pieces that have limited options and can only be worn several months.

If you, like me, are hunting clothes, or considering reworking old pieces in your closet, to put together stylish outfits that can be worn in different occasions, during pregnancy and long after the baby is born, today’s tips are for you.

Being pregnant doesn’t stop Kim Kardasian from wearing curve-hugging clothes and sky-high heels. I do not recommend any mum-to-be wearing high heels, but I do find that after my belly getting bigger, compared to loose, shapeless pieces that are tent-like in profile, properly fitted garments are much more flattering.

This look of her nailed the hottest black and white trend. I love how she wisely chose black and white accessories to maximize the graphic effect. A scarlet lip is enough to brighten up the look. Instead of her high heels, I found this pair equally stylish and much easier to walk in.

As Pantone color of the year 2013, this understated, elegant emerald hue is not only trendy, but also universal flattering. Choose a belted or high-waist design which is comfy to wear during pregnancy. Both of the pieces picked below are so Kate-like, but cost much less!

Miranda Kerr’s off-duty look is always sleek and modern, with an edgy touch. This look is no exception. Loose shift dress doesn’t add pressure to the belly. A structured leather jacket and bare legs show off her figure. A pair of easy-to-walk-in ankle booties are must-have! I literally live in mine: with maxi dress, maternity jeans (the only maternity piece I bought) or knee-length sheath.
