During the holiday season, besides what gift to buy for each friend and family member, another conundrum bothers me is what to wear to holiday parties. With the thought that you may have the same question, I dedicate this series to holiday party outfit ideas for women in different ages.
Poppy Delevingne’s look (above left) is perfect for girls in their 20s. The body conscious sequin dress is bold and sexy. Sequins can add bulk to our body, but the deep blue color minimized this “side effect” while adding a touch of elegance. Her jacket is perfect tailored; the classic shape and color toned down the sparkle. The leather details on the jacket along with her studded clutch and ankle booties balanced the sexiness and femininity of her mini dress, resulting an attractive cool-girl look.
Miranda Kerr’s look (above middle) is glamorous and fashionable, great for women in their 30s and suitable for many occasions. Every piece on her is classic with updated details, like the see-through sleeves on her black blouse, the opulent print on her sleek mini skirt, the subtle studs on her box clutch, and the cross strap on her heels.
Many 9-to-5s have the same conundrum: how to look professional yet still be fashionable. Take cue from Miranda Kerr, choose pieces in classic color and timeless silhouette, but look for details that make these pieces modern and current. So you can get the perfect balance: look fabulous and trendy but still classic and appropriate.
Move to Miroslava Duma (above right), although she is in her 20s, but this outfit from her during this year’s Milan fashion week is a great option for the over 40 crowd. The colorblock leather top and pants combo shows your personal take on trend and age-appropriate. Moreover, it’s comfy for you to move around when you need to take care of your guests or run a last-minute errand. If you need to attend a party, just throw on a statement jewelry piece (eight a necklace like the one on Miroslava Duma or a gold cuff) and a pair of great shoes, you are good to go!
